Privacy

Last updated 27 August 2026

Clefmap does not collect your data, because Clefmap does not send anything anywhere. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no server.

What we collect

Nothing. That is the whole answer, but here is what it means in practice.

What stays on your device

Clefmap saves your progress so the app is useful across sessions. All of it is written to a file inside the app's own storage on your device and never leaves it:

Delete the app and all of it is deleted with it. You can also erase it at any time from Settings, under Reset all progress.

Network

Clefmap makes no network requests. It works fully offline, on a plane, in a practice room with no signal. The one exception is the App Store purchase itself, which is handled entirely by Apple. We never see it.

Purchases

Clefmap's full course is a single in-app purchase. Payment is processed by Apple through your Apple Account. We do not receive, store or have any access to your payment details. Apple tells the app one thing only: whether the purchase exists.

Children

Clefmap is safe for children. There is nothing to sign up for, no chat, no user-generated content, no advertising, and no way for anyone to contact anyone through the app. Because we collect nothing at all, there is nothing to collect from a child either.

MIDI devices

If you connect a MIDI instrument, Clefmap reads the notes you play in order to check your answers. Those notes are used in the moment and are not recorded, stored or transmitted.

Third parties

There are none. Clefmap contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash reporter and no third-party frameworks of any kind. It is built with Apple's frameworks and one bundled music font.

Your rights

Regulations such as GDPR and CCPA give you the right to access, correct, export and delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to produce or erase. Your data is already in the only place it ever was: your device.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a future version of Clefmap ever collects anything, we will say so plainly here and ask you first.
